My parents are divorced and my mom was asking me before I bought a ring if I wanted hers.  I didn't take it.  Anyone have any ideas on what to do with a diamond ring that is not being used anymore.  Could this be made into another piece of jewelry like a necklace or something?

Curious to know that might be a good idea, my moms birthday is coming up.

the stone itself could have some stigma atached to it from your mom's perspective. might be best to get some trade in quotes and exchange it and some cash for a new gift. Or consider it cash in the bank and stick it in a safety deposit box until you need the money. As in anything, if you can sell it back into the marketplace to an end user either by yourself or by using a dealer via consigment sale you'll get the most money for it.

Thanks!  I never even tought about that.  She would likely not want the same stone back.  I'm going to look in to exchanging or selling and getting her something new.
